A Well Balanced Orbit

As we reflect on the different orbits that followers of Jesus fall into, some insight from an unusual source might be helpful.

Michael Moschen is a world famous juggler, known for his PBS documentary and his work in the popular 1986 movie Labyrinth. In an interview, he gives insight into juggling--and into the art of balancing the complex life most of us face daily. In particular he points out how the goal is not stability or arriving at a particular place, but rather that all of juggling, and all of life, is about an ever-shifting balance:

"Balance is not perfect stillness. It's the ability to make exquisitely refined responses to any unexpected change. It's the sense of little movements creating perfect-yet-temporary equilibrium." - Michael Moschen, juggler

Do you have a sense of how your spiritual life (your ‘orbit’ if you will) is different than it was a year ago? How about a week ago? What different concerns, emotions, prayers, thoughts, and practices are showing up for you these days - and how do they help you (or hinder you) from finding that dynamic equilibrium of balance?
