At the Start
There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens. - Ecclesiastes 3:1
As we wrap up the first week of Lent, take some time to reflect on the beginning of this 40-day season. Sit with this prayer, this poem. What stirs in you? What hopes for this season? What temptations to merely hover?
Every new season beckons
something of us -
Attention, beauty, the chance
to create.
This season is no different.
So, like moths to the light,
will we find our way towards God,
or will we over, circling fake suns?
- Rev. Sarah Speed, from her poem, “At the Start” @SanctifiedArt
It might be an encouragement to watch this 1 minute highlight reel from last Sunday’s message about the invitation to lay down shame and pick up belovedness.
