Finding God in Ourselves, too

One of the most important--and most neglected--elements in the beginnings of the interior life is the ability to respond to reality, to see the value and the beauty in ordinary things, to come alive to the splendor that is all around us in the creatures of God. - Thomas Merton

All week we’ve been thinking about looking for Christ in nature. Perhaps it is also possible to find Christ in yourself and to respond with gratitude.

Take a few moments and read over these verses, and see if you can say the same sort of thing to God in your own words.

For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well. - Psalm 139:13-14
