Having a Dream

And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. - Joel 2:28

Priscilla Ahn sings a whimsical song about having a dream. As you listen to it, see if you can let your mind wander a little bit. As a child, did you have fun dreams like hers? Was there a time when you stopped dreaming?

And then she sings about a moment when her dreams got even bigger and were a sort of prayer to God that was answered - ultimately connecting her destiny to her identity as being beloved. Have you had a dream like that?

Finally she reflects back on a life well lived. What would it mean for you to get to the end of your life and to be able to say you lived it well? In what ways would you have made the world better?

DREAM (watch it HERE)
By Priscilla Ahn

I was a little girl
Alone in my little world
Who dreamed of a little home for me

I played pretend between the trees
And fed my house guests bark and leaves
And laughed in my pretty bed of green

I had a dream
That I could fly from the highest swing
I had a dream

Long walks in the dark through woods grown behind the park
I asked God who I'm supposed to be
The stars smiled down on me
God answered in silent reverie
I said a prayer and fell asleep

I had a dream
That I could fly from the highest tree
I had a dream

Now I'm old and feeling gray
I don't know what's left to say about this life I'm willing to leave
I lived it full and I lived it well
There's many tales I lived to tell
I'm ready now, I'm ready now
I'm ready now to fly from the highest wing

I had a dream
