I Am Going Before You

The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.  Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and he is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Matthew 28:5-7

An angel comforts and guides the women who came to Jesus's tomb after he died. The most incredible news is that HE IS ALIVE - this stands at the absolute center of what it means for us to be Christians.

Interestingly, immediately after that groundbreaking news, the angel gives an insight that will be the key to spiritual growth for every disciple from those women at the tomb to us in 2018. Jesus is going before you. You will see him. Just ponder that for a moment.

This morning, if you listen carefully enough, you'll hear the Spirit whisper, Jesus is going before you to the doctor's office - look for him there. The Spirit is whispering, Jesus is going before you to that manager's meeting at work at 11:00am - look for him there. The Spirit is whispering, Jesus is going before you as you take your child into his room to discipline him - look for him there. And on, and on, and on. 

Keep your ears open - the Spirit is whispering to you today. Keep your eyes peeled, Jesus is going before you.
