Louise Thaxton's Prayer
This is the prayer Louis Thaxton prayed over us on Sunday. Pray it along with him and with us today.

Roller coaster flextime from you Lord, to me, roller coaster flextime
It seems to be that the crux of our relationship is about humility,
seeing honestly who we are and how we are together…
Not taking you or ourselves for granted…
Becoming more and more grateful for your gift giving and our giftedness…
Being diligent about making your pleasure Priority One on our to-do list.
You keep refining that list,
I keep trying to do diligence,
but you keep showing me that I’m not really giving my best.
You’re not mean about it, but you are insistent: First fruits equal best Fruits…
Your gift giving is very personal.
Your gift giving is extremely valuable and extremely vulnerable.
How do I share who I really am
and give from that person what I actually know about who you are?
Deep breathing… take a moment, now, and now again
Lord I am so ashamed of my serve
and yet you are so gracious in your loving kindness.
Lord I Am
Thank you for empowering us with your overflowing capacity for forgiveness.
We can forgive ourselves and others by your example, by your grace.
Lord I Am
Thank you for each and every opportunity you place before us to exercise and reflect your loving kindness…
to humbly share who we really are in you and who you really are in us.
Lord I Am
Thank you for welcoming us into your home and your Heart, to share your table…
Teach us and help us to pass on his generosity of yours, here and now, where we live:
in our homes, in Long Beach, in Wriggly, at Lafayette Elementary School, in Southern California, in the whole USA, so rich in your presence, in the whole earth, so rich in your peace.
Lord I Am
Thank you for believing in us.
Please help us not only to believe in you and your Son Jesus, but in one another as well.
Let us treasure your pleasure.
Paul said “this is the mystery Christ in you”…
Christ in each of us, the hope of glory.
Amen, Amen, Amen.
