Loving Well

As we head into the weekend, after a week of reflecting on the role of law and the primacy of love, it seemed appropriate to listen in to some old saints on these things. Let the Spirit speak to you as you read and ponder.

Late have I loved you, O Beauty ever ancient, ever new, late have I loved you! You were within me, but I was outside, and it was there that I searched for you. - Augustine

The important thing is not to think much, but to love much, and so to do whatever best awakens you to love. - Teresa of Avila.

If the concept of God has any validity or any use, it can only be to make us larger, freer, and more loving. If God cannot do this, then it is time we got rid of him. - James Baldwin
