Pearls Before Breakfast

Do not throw your pearls before pigs. - Matthew 7:6

Sometimes it seems like a majority of God’s pearls get trampled by those of us who don’t notice. Sigh.

And then, along comes a special piece that looks at this phenomena with such articulate grace and insight that it warms the heart while cuts it deeply at the same time. This is a longer read, but so fitting for our of our Friday devotions.

Read it as you would one of Jesus’s long form parables. It’s the story of one of the world’s greatest violinists playing in one of the world’s busiest subway stations at rush hour. Let your heart be troubled. But catch the words about the children. And hold the insights of those interviewed. You will meet Jesus here as you behold the beauty.
