Silence is a Door to God

Be still and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10

Pastor Thurman cared about justice and cared about knowing God. They were just different sides of the same coin, one naturally leading to the other. So let’s sit with this theological champion today allowing his words to inspire us.

There is a very great virtue in the cultivation of silence, and strength to be found in using it as a door to God.
Such a door opens within. When I have quieted down, I must spend some time in self examination in the Presence of God.
Silence is a door to God
- Howard Thurman, Meditations of the Heart

Do you open the door of silence to meet with God?

When have you last spent time in silence?

Does your silence lead to justice?

What is God speaking to you about silence today?
