That sliver of light - Denia Bradshaw
Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
forever.
Psalms 23:4-6
On Easter Sunday, I was reminded to hold on. Just as how Jesus was brought to his disciples, I was reminded to keep taking another step toward newfound hope.
That said, as I write this, I remember of a post I made on social media back in December of 2022, it reads:
I will forever love chasing the sun at the end of the day, and have come to learn, grow to understand and love, to rise before and begin my day before the sun and the moon exchange places. I really do love watching their exchange. They share the sky and paint our earth with the progression and movement of their respective paths.
In the early hours, I experience stillness. The calm before the unknown and the likely disarray. In that stillness, I experience a connection and grounding.
It is so dark in the early morning. Regardless, in every morning, a light always appears. And it reminds me to always look for that silver lining.
It is always a matter of time.
Like the rising of the sun every. Single. Day.
Every morning, that sliver of light and hope I seek in the dark grows brighter and brighter.
I had posted those words along with several pictures of the sunset while at the beach. I was in reflection about how the darkest of times are always coupled with expectant knowing that light is coming.
Every. Single. Day.
As back then, and how I was reminded on Sunday, the darkness will fade away.
Just as Jesus stepped out of that grave, the darkest of nights will always come to an end.
We do not have to fear even though we walk through the darkest valley for Jesus is the light of the world, guiding and comforting us. We just need to take another step.
