Who Gets to Know God?
I will turn all my mountains into roads, and my highways will be raised up. See, they will come from afar...- Isaiah 49: 12
As Rogelio Rodriquez pointed out in the message yesterday, the mountain was where the spiritual giants went to meet God: Abraham on Mount Moriah, Moses on Mount Sinai, Elijah on Mount Horeb. But the prophecy in Isaiah is that the true heart of God is that the mountains would be made into roads where every common person could travel. That way, many would “come from afar” to find and meet God.
The plot twist in this passage is that it’s not just the spiritual greats who get access to God. It’s the common people. Even you.
That’s why the New Testament says that “through Christ we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand” (Romans 5:2).
Today, just take a moment and think. How often have you put off sincerely seeking a special connection with God because it seemed like only ‘special’ people or pastors got that kind of access? What if the offer stands for you, even now, to connect deeply with God? How might that change how you think, how you pray, how you seek God?
