Who Is God To You?

Only once in scripture does someone name God - a woman of color who was enslaved and used for sex. Her name was Hagar, and this is how the Bible describes that moment: She gave this name to the Lord who spoke to her: “You are the God who sees me” (Genesis 16:13).

What if we followed Hagar’s example?

On Sunday we asked the question, “What images of God have you found to be healing?” Here are some of the responses that City Church people put in the Zoom chat. Sit with them a moment. Which stand out to you? Why is that? How might it heal your soul to truly connect to God that way?
