Your Culture Truly Alive

After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. And they cried out in a loud voice:

“Salvation belongs to our God,
who sits on the throne,
and to the Lamb.”

• Revelation 7:9-10

In one of the greatest scenes of worship in the entire bible, as the camera pans out we see every race, observe every culture, and hear every language from the whole world over. It’s a beautiful picture of creation in all its diversity. No hierarchy seems to be present, no majority culture, no ideal color or dialect or body size or shape or look. Just people - but not stripped of their cultures. Not stripped of their foods, their dress, their hairstyles, their slang. This is real humanity showing up and celebrating Christ.

Take some time to lean into this passage. Can you imagine your culture fully redeemed? Truly alive and flourishing? Can you worship God out of that today?
