Grace Stacked on Grace

As 1 John 4:16 says , God is love. Amongst other things, that means that God is the ultimate bless-er. God loves to bless - to pour out on us grace stacked on grace.

Some of us may not have grown up with this picture of God. A majority of City Church people seem to have grown up with an image of an angry God or a distant God or a judgmental God. While we may have inherited those perspectives from the religion of our youth, that’s not how the gospels tell the story.

Today, listen in to this one verse from the Gospel of John as it is rendered in 4 different versions. What stands out to your mind? What stands out to your heart? What might it look like today to deeply embrace what this scripture teaches?
