Blessed to be a Blessing

I will bless you... and you will be a blessing. Genesis 12:2

Freely you have received; freely give. Matthew 10:8

Love one another as I have loved you. John 13:34

Those verses sound a lot alike. Jesus sounds a lot like his Father, doesn't he? God speaks to Abraham in Genesis and Jesus speaks to his disciples in the New Testament in the same way. They couldn't be clearer that there is a purpose behind being blessed, there is a responsibility behind receiving a gift, and there is a motivation embedded in being loved. 

Yes, we are loved. Period. (We have to allow that truth to settle in deeply to our heart). 

Inherent in being loved - and to truly embrace your belovedness -  means to let in so much of it that it overflows the banks of your soul into the life of someone near you. This has always been God's design for how the world works best.
