Exploring the Creation that is You
Genesis 1 unfolds the work of creation like any good poem - full of rhythm and color and texture. And then the creation story comes to its climax in this following verse. This short little sentence is the highlight of it all. As you read it, see if you can sense what God might have been feeling or thinking:
God saw all that God had made, and it was very good. - Genesis 1:31
Can you sit with that for a few moments?
The creation wasn’t just good, it was very good. Can’t just just feel God’s happiness and delight, marveling at all the intricacies of the world?
So we each get to go on a journey, instead of the the depths of the sea or to some far off jungle, we get to explore a part of creation that is even more marvelous than those places. We get to explore our very heart and mind and body and soul. Listen to how one author puts this invitation:
Each of us carries an imprint of divinity. This is what it means to be the image of God. It also means that self-discovery is a sacred pursuit. The more we come to know our true selves, the more we come to know our God. - Bridget Eileen Rivera
How is God speaking to you today about your sacred journey towards coming to know yourself as God made you to be?
