Fire
This week as we’ve reflected on finding space and time for God to help us refocus, this poem seemed an approbate benediction. Perhaps you struggle with ‘too much of a good thing’ and have a hard time finding the ‘space between the logs’ to make the meaning out of life.
Ask the Spirit - who has fallen with fire before - to ignite in your heart a desire to make the kind of spaces you will need (both large and small) to make this day a meaningful one.
Fire
Judy Sorum Brown
What makes a fire burn
Is space between the logs,
a breathing space.
Too much of a good thing,
too many logs packed in too tight
can douse the flames
almost as surely
as a pail of water would.
