How Do We Love Well?
What does it look like to love well? We’ll be thinking about that all week in these devotionals based on the simple passage from the sermon yesterday. We aren’t going to learn anything complicated or even that unusual, but let’s lean in to it with heart and commitment - because that’s what it’s going to take.
So this is my prayer: that your love will flourish and that you will not only love much but well. - Philippians 1:9 The Message
A a very simple approach to loving well would be to start where the scripture starts - having someone to pray for you. The goal here is for the church in Philippi to learn to love well, and to that end, Paul commits to praying for them.
So we’re going to try something very simple this morning: would you ask someone to pray for you to love well? It may feel humbling to do so, or you may not want to ‘bother’ anyone - but if you are going to love well, this passage suggests that having someone pray for you would be a great place to start. Maybe you were looking for something more impressive than that… but why not give this one little step a shot?
(If no one comes to mind to pray for you, just fill out this short form and we’ll pray for you!).
