I Lean Over the Chasm of Myself

This week we’ve been considering our insecurity and looking underneath the hood of our souls to see what’s really inside. Turns out, the journey of self-discovering is a sacred trek, a holy enterprise. And it can be frightening as well as releasing.

This enigmatic poem hints but doesn’t expose, it broods and reflects. Let it invite you to another layer down of your heart and soul. What do you find there? Where is God in it?

But when I lean over the chasm of myself –
it seems
my god is dark
and like a web:
a hundred roots
silently drinking.
- Rainer Maria Rilke
