Love Made Complete

If your hope is waning, find those who can sustain it. And when the time comes, you will carry someone else’s hope for them. No individual can resist despair on their own. We steady each other. We can’t afford despair.
— Cole Arthur Riley, Black Liturgies

We are not meant for isolation - we are meant for love. We are meant to live in a deep web of sustaining relationships, in communities of care and concern. How can we lean into that reality today - what one step can we take? Is it our turn to offer care or to ask for what we need?

As you read the gentle encouragement below, what words or images strike you? Do any memories surface of times you have seen God in someone’s tangible expression of love? Can you imagine the goodness of a world with God’s love made complete? Talk with Jesus about these things.

11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us. - 1 John 4:11-12
